For thousands of people across Causeway Coast & Glens, the Council website is an essential part of everyday life. It connects residents, businesses and visitors with the services, information and opportunities they need, from waste and recycling to planning, leisure, events, business support and community services.

Our partnership with Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council spans many years, giving us a deep understanding of both the organisation and the people who rely on its digital services. Over that time, we have worked closely with the Council to continually strengthen and evolve its online presence, creating a platform that can support a huge range of services while remaining clear, accessible and easy to use.

Creating a Stronger Foundation for the Future

A council website never stands still. New services are introduced, information changes constantly and users expect to be able to find what they need quickly, wherever they are and whatever device they are using.

With such a large volume of content and such a diverse audience, Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council needed a platform capable of keeping pace. In recent years, we migrated the website to Craft CMS, giving the Council a more powerful, flexible and scalable foundation for managing its digital content.

The move required much more than a new CMS. It needed to give the Council greater control over an extensive website, while providing us with the flexibility to continually improve how people discover information, navigate services and interact with the organisation online.

Designed Around the People Who Use It

With such a wide range of services and audiences, the experience had to feel simple. We streamlined navigation, clarified content hierarchies and refined key user journeys so residents, businesses and visitors can find what they need quickly and with minimal friction.

Accessible by Design

Accessibility was embedded throughout the design and build process, not treated as an afterthought. From typography, contrast and page structure to navigation and interaction patterns, the site was built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards and support the Council’s obligations under the 2018 Accessibility Regulations and ongoing Government Digital Service monitoring.

Flexible Content, Without Developer Reliance

We created a bespoke page builder in Craft CMS with around 30 reusable content blocks, including accordions, FAQs, carousels, galleries and video embeds.

This gives the Council team the freedom to build and update rich, well-structured pages themselves while maintaining consistency, usability and accessibility across the site.

Secure Access for Elected Members

A dedicated Members Area gives elected members secure access to confidential information using their existing Council credentials.

Single sign-on and two-factor authentication keep access simple for users while ensuring sensitive committee papers remain protected and available only to authorised members.

A Digital Platform That Keeps Evolving

The result is a user-friendly, accessible digital experience that makes it easier for people across the Borough to find important information, access services and engage with the Council online.

Our long-standing partnership continues as we work closely with the Council to maintain, improve and evolve the platform, ensuring it keeps pace with changing services, technology and the needs of its users.
