Why change up your website for the Christmas season?

Adding some festive cheer to your website is a great way to bring in the Christmas season - and it doesn't have to be complicated. A Christmas facelift can help to increase engagement on your site, and make it an even more fun experience for your visitors!

Here are 3 simple ways you can give your website a festive facelift:

1. Create a festive logo

A fun and easy way to celebrate the Christmas season on your website is to create a festive variation of your logo! For example, this year we swapped out our usual circle for a snowflake. But you could incorporate a christmas tree, candy cane, or festive typography into your logo for the holiday period. Keep in mind that it's important to maintain brand consistency and ensure that the logo remains recognisable and legible - the festive elements should complement the overall design, but not overpower it.

If you don't want to modify the logo too much, simply add a Santa hat - like our friends at Simon Community have done!

2. Introduce Christmas themed backgrounds or graphics

Adding some Christmassy backgrounds or graphics can instantly create a festive atmosphere on your website.

For example, we created a snowy, winter landscape to incorporate into our homepage, which gave our usual hero section a festive makeover. Introducing illustrations, icons, or Christmassy stock images to page banners and call to action sections can bring a bit of festive cheer to your content.

3. Add some animation

Another simple but effective way of bringing cheer to your website is through some festive animation. Animations can make your website visually appealing and eye-catching, and can create a memorable experience for visitors of your site.

We opted for some falling snowflakes, but you could have anything from animated Christmas characters, to twinkling lights - something that can help bring a touch of magic and excitement to your website!
